Eligibility of BEE Registration and how to apply in India
The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) is a nodal agency under the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India, set up under the provisions of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001. The BEE is tasked with developing policies and strategies with a view to reducing the energy intensity of the Indian economy. One of the key tools deployed by the BEE to meet this objective is the BEE establishment of a mandatory regulatory framework for energy conservation through successive amendments to the Energy Conservation Act, 2001. The scheme is designed to incentivize industry to voluntarily adopt energy conservation measures beyond the statutory minimum levels, in order to improve their energy efficiency.
